UCOL Block 2 LED Upgrade

As UCOL’s electrical service provider, Aotea brought in our partners Philips and NuGreen to discuss what innovative LED and control systems we could offer. The Block in question was Block 2, which houses the photography school. The nominated Philips products (Interact Pro) offered immediate power savings and lowered maintenance costs, while improving operational performance through the wireless control managed by the daylight and occupancy sensors. The result for the client was minimal disruption to the class spaces and increased user interface for the staff and students, important in a facility that needs closely controlled lighting. In addition, we achieved an 81% power saving from the legacy system, while a 5-year labour and parts warranty removed the need to budget for any maintenance for that period and beyond.
